RESOLUTION - SALUTING THE BEAGLE

The Beagle Board is used and loved by a vibrant community of electronics engineers, it's the development platform that launched a thousand ideas as diverse as speed readers, DJ mixers and the 'BeaglePod'. Whilst the Beagle Board is not recommended or supported for use in production hardware - the RE2 single board computer is the perfect launchpad to take your Beagle-inspired design from prototype to production. Blue Chip Technology have taken the OMAP 3 core architecture and designed an OTS single board computer designed for volume implementation across a range of industrial control, multimedia, transport and telematics applications. The RE2 has universal connector types, simple connectivity and industry standard power supply voltages. We appreciate the value of a stable platform to the industrial user and roadmap our board products for a typical 5 year availability, closely managing the product lifecycle for fit form and function upgrades.

Blue Chip also offer the REsolution package of OTS display, mounting and cabling kits for the RE2 SBC. REsolution brings together all the basic building blocks needed for a versatile embedded multimedia or HMI module, you don’t have to manage the associated issues of integrating a display and embedded board – the mounting, cabling, signalling, power and connectors are all sorted out.

Board power dissipation is circa 2 watts at 720MHz, supporting all of the key hardware features of a solid embedded engine - 256MB LPDDR and 512MB Flash memory, Serial Ports (3), 10/100Mbit Ethernet, Audio, Touch Screen controller, optional SD, USB Host Ports (4), USB Device Port (1), 12 general purpose I/Os,  DVI/HDMI port, camera interface, Wi-fi and Bluetooth. An innovative expansion port is available to accommodate a range of flexible add-on modules, for example an OTS CM1 module brings full GPRS, onboard Accelerometer and GPS functionality to the RE2, ideal for telematics and in-vehicle applications. All of this functionality has been designed into a board similar in size to a playing card.
