WILDCAT is based on an innovative card form factor, enabling a highly integrated Pentium® III PICMG compliant SBC to be used in embedded applications where normal full size PICMG cards are just too big. Despite being only a 3/4 length card, WILDCAT includes on-board CRT/LCD, Ultra 2 Wide SCSI, Ethernet and a host of other functions. Designed for operation in passive backplane systems, WILDCAT is based on the high performance Intel 440BX Chip Set with a 66/100MHz front side bus, and supports Pentium® III processors in a PPGA370 socket. Up to 512MB of SDRAM and 288MB of Flash is supported.
The C&T 69030 video controller intergrates 4MB of video memory and supports both CRT and LCD displays, simultaneously if required. WILDCAT supports LCD and CRT resolutions up to 1280x1024x256 and a wide range of LCD panels up to 36 bits. The optional Ultra 2 wide SCSI, which is based on the Adaptec 7890, supports LVDS and provides data transfer rates up to 80MB/Sec.
Built-in power management features help to manage the power consumption and improve reliability. WILDCAT supports 100/10Base-T Ethernet, up to four EIDE devices and dual USB ports. Standard ISA bus peripherals such as PS/2 Mouse/Keyboard controller, dual floppy, RS232 Serial ports (IrDA option on COM2) and one SPP/ECP/EPP bi-directional parallel port are also integrated onboard.
