The ETX-855 board is based is based on the socket 478-based Intel® Pentium® M or Celeron® M processor combined with Intel® 82855GME chipset. The integrated Intel Extreme Graphics 2 video controller offers resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 pixel with 2D and 3D acceleration. As with all our ETX modules, the 855 provides all the common PC peripheral functions such as USB, serial, parallel ports, keyboard/mouse, Ethernet, and IDE on a 114mm x 95mm footprint.
The ETX format is a core module incorporating central functions such as CPU and memory subsystems together with sound, video, Ethernet and standard PC I/O. This is designed to plug into an application-specific baseboard, using a defined set of high density, low profile, surface-mount connectors, which carry both ISA and PCI bus signals as well as dedicated I/O interfaces. This means the base board can be physically optimised for specific applications, whilst the ETX cores are scalable and interchangeable - a semi-custom solution for the rapid development of embedded applications
