Blue Chip Technology are the latest member to join the ETX® 3.0 community. ETX 3.0 introduces 2x Serial ATA without changing any of the ETX pins, making new modules 100 percent pin-to-pin compatible with previous versions and ensuring long-term support for the vast number of embedded application solutions based on these already highly integrated COMs, in applications from automation, medical, gaming and entertainment, to military and aerospace. That 100% pin backward compatible ETX 3.0 ensures that an existing ETX baseboard needs absolutely no change. ETX 3.0 also includes USB 2.0 to be used via the existing ETX connectors.
Adopting ETX 3.0 is further evolving the highly successful Blue Chip ETX C3 range, the move should keep the product family viable into 2010 and beyond. New board releases incorporating the latest Via C7 core are planned for release this Summer.
